Well, you may all remember in an older post over a year ago, I talked about my publishing choice of going with a hybrid model and using Austin MaCauley out of NYC. Well, I made the right decision, and here's why.
Self-publishing on Amazon, my book would not be available on stores shelves right now. Amazon is a competitor to Indigo, as they both sell online books, so they would never buy from a competitor.
And, more importantly, the logistics of Indigo or any other book store is they buy from distributors, in my case a company called Ingram. They do this because the books are returnable if they don't sell. So no risk for book stores. And, the distributors buy from publishing houses - like Austin MaCauley.
So, bottom line, it was an investment for me, ~ $4000 in the end, and a little over a year waiting for it to be published, but now it's available in book stores - which is the goal of every author! Now, it just has to sell!!
